The School of Mathematics and Statistics is seeking to expand its expertise in industrial optimisation and operations research.

The successful applicant is expected to undertake high-level research in operations research, focusing on cutting-edge areas (e.g. stochastic optimisation, intersections with data science), with importance for industrial applications. The proposed research program should support collaborative research to develop innovative methods for improved decision making in industry, and collaborations with other Schools in the Faculty of Science and the broader University, such as the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences.

To be considered for the position you will have a PhD or equivalent research higher degree in mathematics or related discipline and a strong research profile. You will demonstrate the ability to develop and teach operations research subjects at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.
