Natalie Wood at CK Science is recruiting for a Microbiology Team Leader to join a leading food testing laboratory, who are UKAS accredited, on a permanent basis based in Derby. This is a shift role working 37.5 hours per week, Wednesday to Friday 12pm - 10pm, Saturday 10am to 7.30pm and candidate must be able to commit to overtime as required.

The Role:
Our client is looking to recruit a experienced, dynamic, proactive and enthusiastic Team Leader, ideally with knowledge of food testing in compliance with ISO17025.
You will work with a team of up to 15 people, overseeing and assuring the quality, speed, efficiency and accuracy of work.
You will be responsible for all aspects of sample preparation and test set up, as well as maintaining a high standard of GLP and housekeeping.

- Manage performance through regular communications including one to ones, team meetings and regular feedback
- Set a high-performance culture
- Take charge in releasing potential of the team
Your Background:
The ideal candidate for this role will have
- Good IT literacy skills
- Previous experience of working in a food microbiology test laboratory would be preferred, but we will consider experience of supervising complex processes to high quality standards in an FMCG environment.
- Able to demonstrate leadership skills
- Able to motivate and engage a diverse group of team members
