Job Overview:

The Imaging team at Covance is seeking an Imaging Research Assistant to provide hands on imaging experience and expertise for preclinical studies. In this role youll perform imaging and analysis of lab animals and tissue specimens (both in-vivo and ex-vivo) and/or develop/validate methodologies for new imaging assays. Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform various imaging experiments, primarily using micro-CT and associated imaging modalities. Perform image analysis using various programs like ImageJ.Maintains study documentation and laboratory records in compliance to SOPs and other regulatory agency guidelines.Work closely with the lead imaging scientists and assist in developing novel in-vivo and ex-vivo imaging applications and methods for drug development.Ability to handle small animals for lab imaging work (experience in dosing procedures is a plus).Monitors animal health and welfare in compliance with the Animal Health and Welfare Act and help maintain facilities for AAALAC compliance.Provides input and participates in project meetings, plans, monitors and guides project work.With supervisory assistance, serves as a lead technician on projects, overseeing a small group of technical staff.Participates in new equipment and instrument assessment and qualification, as appropriate.Participates in client visits as needed, assists in communicating technical information.Participates in process improvement initiatives.Assists in evaluation of data for incorporation into written reports.Assists in writing reports and protocols, SOP & methodsDay-shift work hours, Monday-Friday no weekends or Holidays

Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science/Engineering (BS) degree or related scientific field, or comparable skills and experiences.
  • Radiation Technologist certification in CT or MRI perferred.

Experience:

  • 3-4 years of hands on in-vivo and ex-vivo imaging experience.
  • Prefer but not required 6-10 years related or relevant laboratory experience
  • Experience in a GLP regulated laboratory environment a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
