George Truman at CK Technical is recruiting for a Supply Chain Manager to join a company in the Chemical Manufacturing industry at their site based in Duxford on a permanent basis.
The Company:
Our client is a leading global chemical solutions provider with a long heritage of pioneering technologically advanced epoxy, acrylic and polyurethane-based polymer products. Duxford site is an operational facility comprising of a manufacturing plant, warehousing and administration.
The Role:
The main purpose of the role will be to to coordinate all Supply Chain activities at site level - planning, procurement, warehousing and distribution - this position is a key interface between Commercial and Manufacturing activities (S&OP). Additionally you will ensure that EHS is consistently driven in department as a site priority. Drive for continuous improvement, working towards a Zero harm objective.
Further responsibilities will include:
· Manage S&OP at site level, support and assist the Site Manager. Be the interface between central demand planning and the site. Provide relevant and structured information to the plant to offer visibility and support target achievement, critically OTIF and Schedule Adherence. Balance site needs and constraints with external demand.
· Organise working processes for the three main Supply Chain responsibilities at site level. Align and optimise according to constraints and strategic orientations. This will include production planning and the handling of raw material, intermediate and finished goods.
· Work in coordination with centralized PMO to define, model, test and implement all SC related projects at Site or European level. Propose process optimization and participate actively in the data standardization between functions and sites. This will involve network design and the optimisation of cost to serve.
Your Background:
To succeed in this role you will have:
· Master degree either in Business or Supply Chain (or equivalent experience).
· Commercial exposure, proven work experience S&OP, Material Handling, APICS, LEAN Manufacturing.
· Experience in demand planning and management.
· Demonstrated inventory management, project management and Cost to Serve optimization.
· Strong convincing and negotiation skills.
· High computer literacy and high proficiency in major IT tools (SAP, Access, BI).
· People management skills.
