6 Texting Disasters That Prove Your Phone's Out To Destroy Your Life

Next To You

What could go wrong when a text isn't delivered? A whole lot, apparently.

Texting can be the best form of communication ever, like when you've got a crush on someone and you break out into a huge grin every time your phone lights up with their name. Other times, it can be a real pain and make your life totally miserable and complicated. You know that autocorrect is a thing and that it has gotten you into trouble more times than you can count. But did you know that some texting disasters happen when messages aren't even delivered?

6 A Close Call

It's not easy to learn that your parents are getting divorced, and it's even worse if you think that your mom told you that she was leaving your dad... but that's not what she said at all. Her phone autocorrected something and when she tried to tell you the real story, the explanation didn't send. This sounds really stressful.

Megan's mom meant to say that she and Megan's dad were "splitting firewood" but it came out like "splitting forever." Megan must have totally freaked out and you can't blame her. That's not fun news to hear, especially via text message. Thankfully, that's not what was really happening, but since Megan's mom wasn't able to fully communicate the problems that she was having with her phone, this must have taken a long time to clear up. What a mess.

5 Oops

This text message fail has it all: strippers, a surprise, a boss, and a themed day at the office. Involving kids. This sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.

If you want to deliver one message, it should be this one. You have to wonder if this person was ever able to send the message? Did they cancel the strippers or did the strippers show off and freak out the kids? Oh man. It sounds horrible. And hilarious. But mostly horrible. What kind of workplace even allows strippers to attend a meeting, let alone a meeting in the boss's office? It doesn't exactly sound like the most professional office setting...

4 Gullible Gramps

It's bad enough that you randomly get emails from people all over the world asking for money. Those are super annoying. It's even worse when you learn that a gullible relative is getting taken in by someone and is about to hand over some serious dough.

This person's grandpa was texting them and saying that they were going to pay someone. When the grandkid said, "No Grandpa it's a trap", that message didn't get delivered. And that's a real shame. You're on the edge of your seat now, aren't you? You really need to know what happened next. Maybe they phoned their grandpa and were able to tell him that he shouldn't send the money and explain more about what a bad idea this was. At least, that's what you hoped happened.

3 Hospital Hell

One of the scariest things in life is getting a middle-of-the-night phone call and hearing that someone close to you is in the hospital or has gotten injured. But it's just as horrifying if you hear that in the middle of the day... or if you get a text message about it instead.

In this case, this person texted their mom to tell them that they had fallen off their bike and they tried to explain that they were heading to the hospital. They just wanted to be safe and make sure that nothing serious was going on and they made sure to say that it wasn't a big deal. But since those messages never actually sent, their mom totally went nuts and wanted to go to the hospital. When she didn't hear anything else, she said she was calling 911. Ah, a mother's love. What can't it do?!

2 The Saddest Story

This poor person was trying to text their partner and it just didn't work. They start off innocently enough and say hey, but then they make things awkward by saying hey way too many times (as in five). Even though the messages never sent and therefore it's not technically that embarrassing, it still kind of is. You, at least, are feeling some second-hand embarrassment reading this.

The worst is at the end when the person messages a sad face and then says "I can't text you." It's possible that this was just a technological glitch and it's not like the person blocked them or anything (although you never know...).

1 No Way

This is super mysterious and captures your interest just as much as a scary movie or book. Who is this person texting? Why are they saying "Noooo" with a crying smiley face emoji? What exactly is going on here? It sucks when something is out of context.

Since that message never got delivered, did the other person get super confused? Sad? Angry? There are so many things that could have happened. They could have gotten dumped so they were showing their emotions. Or maybe the other person said that they were going on vacation so they couldn't see each other for a while, or they were sharing that they were moving far, far away. Whatever it was, you hope that this message eventually got delivered because life is complicated enough. Texting shouldn't be.
