A 'youtuber', who is only a kid, has been sentenced to four weeks in jail in Singapore for offending Christianity.
A young 'youtuber' of 16 years, Amos Yee, has been sentenced to four weeks in jail in Singapore for making and posting videos with offensive content towards Christianity on the famous website.
This kid had only 16-year-old and loved his life of a video blogger, and for doing what he liked he was sentenced that same monday to four weeks in jail in Singapore for posting offensive videos on YouTube, in a trial criticized by every human rights organization that found out of this terrible horror.
The young Singaporean Amos Yee was found guilty of offending Christianity and posting obscene images on YouTube. The court dismissed another charge for criticizing the memory of former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, who died last March, according to Channel News Asia.
His lawyer, Alfred Dodwell, said that they will appeal against the sentence since they consider the blogger innocent, who has reached nearly half a million visits in his YouTube videos.
The young blogger is hospitalized in the Institute of Mental Health of the city-State, where he has been subjected to psychological tests by medical recommendation.
Human Rights Watch (HRW) has criticized the country's authorities for what it considers the violation of the freedom of expression of Amos Yee, who has been deprived of liberty for at least 50 days before the trial.
"The authorities have seriously violated their rights by simply expressing unpopular political views with the government," Phil Robertson, deputy director of HRW Asia, said in a statement.
Robertson called the process against Amos Yee "unjust" and asked Singapore to unconditionally release the "youtuber".
