Ghosts are one thing that no one can agree on. Most people in America do not think they exist. But in other cultures around the world, the existence of ghosts is not even a topic of dispute. But when a ghostly presence appears in video footage and photographs, it is harder to ignore. So when one mom saw a ghost lurking behind her son in a photo, she needed to share it with the world.
If you’re easily creeped out, this photo is going to do you in. Mom asked her two children to pose for a photo beside a large tree. Her daughter climbed onto a limb and laid across it. Her son stood at the crook of the tree along its trunk holding a soccer ball. But a third presence was undeniably there behind her son. And you’re going to feel your skin crawling when you take a look at this photographic evidence.
Mom Laura Watson needed to share the photo on the internet. She needed other people to look at it and tell her that she wasn’t crazy for what she saw in the photo. And people across the world have backed her up. The presence of something there is undeniable. But what the presence is has been opened up for debate.
People have speculated that the ghostly presence was the spirit of a boy who died in the same woods where Watson snapped the photo. Because that supposition was just too creepy for her, Laura has been losing sleep. She worries that the spirit might be haunting her and her family. Thankfully, people are sending her prayers on social media to help protect her from the spirit, which may or may not be evil.
The image was taken at the Plessey Woods Country Park in Northumberland in the United Kingdom. The family was enjoying a sunny Monday afternoon there when they snapped the image. In the photo, Watson’s children, 15-year-old Charlotte Hill and nine-year-old Byrin Watson, were clearly visible. They also were in the park with their cousin, 16-year-old Jack.
When Watson reviewed the photos later, she was “terrified.” Usually, not a superstitious person, Watson, who works as a medical receptionist, could not deny that another child’s face was behind Byrin. Although no one else was in the area, the face in the image is clear as day.
Laura never believed in the paranormal before, but after seeing this image, she is convinced. Despite being afraid, she plans to return to the woods to investigate. But she worries that the spirit will follow her home.
“It’s very unusual, and everyone is really freaked out. Me and my daughter couldn’t even go to sleep last night because we were so scared. My husband is on night shifts, and I was alone, and I was like ‘Oh God.’ I was terrified in case anything had followed us back.”
After sharing the image online, Watson said, “I’ve had people on our Facebook saying they are going to send me prayers. I didn’t believe in anything like that until I saw this for myself.”
