Brad Ausmus was fired by the Tigers in September after four seasons in Detroit, but has already found a new team.
According to ocregister.com, the Angels are set to announce hiring Ausmus as a special assistant to general manager Billy Eppler.
The former three-time Gold Glove catcher endured a rough 2017 season, in which the Tigers tied the Giants for worst record in MLB. Detroit also traded away a number of assets, including All-Star outfielder Justin Upton to the Angels.
Ausmus, 48, went 314-332 in four seasons with the Tigers, making one playoff appearance in 2014. He interviewed for the now-filled Red Sox managerial position this offseason, but afterwards admitted he wouldn't mind taking a break from managing.
