Two Pitt football freshmen are facing charges of disorderly conduct/engaged in fighting after an alleged altercation in a dorm room last week, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Thursday.
According to a University of Pittsburgh police report, defensive back Paris Ford and tight end Tyler Sear allegedly fought one another around 10:15 p.m. Oct. 17 in a dorm largely consisting of freshman athletes. An officer wrote in the complaint that “this course of conduct created a physically hazardous condition to a degree police response was required.”
Ford tweeted a picture Thursday of him and Sear saying the video game Madden was to blame.

In a statement, the university said “[t]his situation was immediately addressed and the appropriate disciplinary actions from a program standpoint have been internally handled.”
Sear has one reception for 10 yards this season, and Ford hasn’t seen the field and likely will redshirt, according to the Post-Gazette.
The Panthers have endured a disappointing 3-5 season (1-3 in the ACC). They host Virginia at 12:30 p.m. ET Saturday.
