Lady Gaga’s Joanne era is drawing to a close, but the pop icon made sure to send her out with a bang at Sunday’s Grammy Awards.

“This is for my father’s sister, Joanne,” she said at a piano featuring illuminated angel wings. “This is for love and compassion, even when you can’t understand.”

Near the end of the song, Gaga said, “Time’s Up,” referring to the popular movement to fight harassment, and belted out her hit “Million Reasons.”

Thank you to the fans and #TheGrammys for such a special night. It was very emotional singing. Soul shaking and humbling. Thank you for keeping #Joanne alive with me through music. And for supporting me. I love you. pic.twitter.com/Y2YTETA3VF

Though “Joanne” was officially released as a single in parts of Europe, there is no word on whether the song will serve as the LP’s third single in the U.S. Previous album cuts “Perfect Illusion” and “Million Reasons” both reached the top 20 on the domestic charts, with the latter also attaining platinum certification after Gaga performed it during the Super Bowl LI halftime show in February 2017.

A six-time Grammy winner, Gaga was nominated for a further pair of awards heading into Sunday’s ceremony: Best Pop Solo Performance for her hit single “Million Reasons,” and Best Pop Vocal Album for the song’s parent album. She appeared during the Grammys telecast while on a short break from her Joanne World Tour, which wraps Feb. 23 in Berlin.

In addition to prepping for the release of her upcoming film A Star Is Born and gearing up for her Las Vegas residency, Gaga is also hard at work on a follow-up to Joanne.

“I’ve started writing,” Gaga told EW in August 2017 of the planned LP, which is currently under construction via longtime Gaga collaborators DJ White Shadow and Benjamin Rice, among others. “I have a lot of ideas and a lot of things I want to create, so you’ll see in a bit. I need some time to create.”
