The birth of a car guy

I was just a young teen when i became interested in working on cars i would watch my older friends work on there cars and i would jump in to help them from time to time and after a while i started doing things on my own. i was from a poor family and was not able to get my own car until i was 19 and had my first full time job. i had found an 85 escort for sell from a guy that i knew in town he allowed me to get it on payments. As soon as it was paid of i started working on it right away, it was an 85 escort 5spd. I loved that little car I started tuning it up right away normal stuff like plugs wires and things like that. I cut the exhaust and removed the air filter because one of the old guys at work had made the statement that if it breathes freer it will perform better. I did all I could at that point to the engine, the next part was the stereo the one that was in it stopped working so i had to do something so i asked a few friends what they knew about installing a stereo and they said all you have to remember is power, ground, and speakers but, little did i know that there was waaaay more than that to come. i heard a car going by me one day and it was just banging and the trunk was rattling so i was curious as to what was going on he pulled into the store just the next block over so I got into my car and went to see if i could talk to him about his sound system. he had told me that he went to the Record Cellar to purchase his system and that the guys there would be able to help me with everything from a head unit all the way to a set of subs and amp. so i went to see them on my next payday, not knowing any better i only had $350 with me. At the time they had lay a way so after getting all the info and finally getting the products payed off it was time to install well i didn't know what to do so i asked a couple of guys at work if they knew anyone that could help me install the stereo amp and subs. I found a guy that was about my age that had a system and he said he would help. so after an entire day of running wires and hooking it all up i was ready to test it out. i turned it on and low and behold the bass bouncing off of the back glass going directly to the back of my head was intense a set or puch 12 inch subs and a punch 100 amp. with a new clarion cd player was just what my soul needed and from that moment on i was addicted i had to learn more and build better systems. after a while i settled down and had less money to spend and kind of got out of the game until a few years back i decided to start a youtube channel to build fiberglass boxes and to do car stuff on and that was the birth or RoyzCustomz
