A groom in Colorado reportedly lost his life following an argument with his wife-to-be over the list of guests. According to the report, Brandon Watkins, 33, was stabbed to death by his fiancée 31-year-old Jacqueline Souza on the suspicion that he invited his former girlfriend to their upcoming wedding.
Brandon and Jacqueline had been engaged since late June despite the fact that the woman was in the process of divorcing another man. The pair had already fixed their wedding to hold in Las Vegas and was in a bar checking out the list of guest when the fiancée spotted a name which belonged to her man’s ex.
The bride-to-be believed that the relationship was still ongoing and major altercation developed between the couple. Brandon was found stabbed with a steak knife and unresponsive at their Colorado Springs home after Jacqueline called 911.
At first, the bride-to-be told cops that she found Watkins with a steak knife in his chest after she came out from the bathroom but investigators did not find any signs of break-ins. According to court documents, Souza suggested that the victim could have stabbed himself following their argument.
The suspect later told officers that her deceased fiancé had been cheating on her with other women and had taken to violence during their face off. She claimed Brandon threatened her with a steak knife. In a continuous twist of statements, Jacqueline further claimed that the groom fell on top of the knife after she pushed him away to escape.
Souza, who is being under arrest, is billed to return to court on August 1, the report said.
