Everyone loves a cute and touching pregnancy announcement. This country music star just posted one that might make you cry.
Hillary Scott, lead vocalist of country music band Lady Antebellum, posted a video to her Instagram account on Aug. 18, 2017 of her husband, Chris Tyrrel, relaying some important news to their two-year-old daughter, Eisele. Tyrrell, drummer for the country music band Love and Theft, looked his adorable daughter in the eye and began to tell her that God had answered her prayers.
“You know how you’ve been praying a lot … about God giving our family another baby?” Tyrrel asked his daughter, speaking slowly. “Well…God has answered that prayer. And mommy is pregnant with a baby in her belly.”
Eisele quickly turned her head to look at her mom. Scott smiled and placed her hand on her belly.
“But guess what?” Tyrrel continued. “She actually has two babies in her belly.”
The blond toddler gasped excitedly and asked, “Can I feel?” She reached out and touched her mom’s belly.
“I can’t wait until the babies come out!” Eisele exclaimed. Her parents looked overjoyed to celebrate the moment with their daughter.
Beyond the fact that having twins is exciting, the Tyrrell family has even more reason to be thankful. Scott has shared publicly with her fans that she suffered a miscarriage with their previous child, making these twins an even more special gift from God.
“It’s truly a miracle.” Scott wrote on her Instagram. “Because we’ve been so open about our last pregnancy loss and journey, I want to be fully transparent with you that this happened naturally. Chris nor I have any family history of twins that we can find and are just resting in the profound gift this truly is.”
Scott had a miscarriage in the fall of 2015, after which she recorded the album “Love Remains” with her family, which includes a collection of hymns and other faith-based songs. Scott shared that recording this album helped her process the pain she was experiencing, while also helping unify her family.
In an interview with Good Morning America, Scott commented on her song “Thy Will,” featured on “Love Remains,” saying, “I wrote the song in the middle of experiencing everything that comes with a miscarriage, so it was at my most raw place when this song truly poured out of me.”
Scott wants her fans to walk away from her album and from her pregnancy announcement with a strong sense of hope. Having experienced deliverance from a dark season of her life, Scott shares her story to help point others to God.
“My heart still grieves for our loss and all who are struggling with pregnancy and infant loss and infertility,” Scott continued on her Instagram. “God hears every prayer and I will continue to share our story to point to the Source of all life, peace and comfort in the best and most difficult of times. Don’t lose hope!”
Lady Antebellum fans have something new to look forward to as they await the birth of Hillary Scott’s beautiful twins. And more than that, the world can look to the Tyrrell family’s faith for inspiration and hope.
