Sina Sports Secures Strategic Relationships With PGA Tour, LPGA

Sina Sports reached "long-term strategic relationships with the PGA Tour and the LPGA," according to Taruka Srivastav of THE DRUM. The deal sees the Chinese digital sports media platform secure "full highlights and special video content including player interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, tournament recaps, and more throughout the tour calendar." Sina Sports now "dominates the Chinese realm," as it has partnerships with over 90 sports properties. Sina Sports Content Acquisition & Strategic Partnerships Head Sam Li said, "We want to increase the exposure of golf to our sports fans." China has "shut down nearly 100 golf courses" in recent years but Li said that the sport was being "well received in China." He said, "Golf is a sport that is increasingly receiving positive attention in China" (THE DRUM, 4/11).
