Despite Chelsea being ready to offer Eden Hazard a £300k/week new contract, rumours about the Belgian’s future continue to persist. He’s fervently been linked with a move to the Bernabéu in recent seasons, but is that the only option available for the 27-year-old?
Here are three options for Eden Hazard apart from Real Madrid.
Paris Saint-Germain
Ever since bullying Barcelona into selling Neymar in the summer, the world has been taking Paris Saint-Germain extremely seriously. The French giants have forcefully staked their claim amongst the elites of Europe. Nasser Ghanim Al-Khelafi has made it abundantly clear that he has his eyes firmly set on the Champions League. If Unai Emery can’t deliver that this season, attacking reinforcements will be called upon in the summer.
As of today, there’s no better winger available than Eden Hazard and the Belgian would seamlessly fit in at the Parc des Princes. Not only is PSG a bigger club than Chelsea, but he speaks the same language as the natives. Plus, his home country is a 30-minute drive away, allowing him to be closer to his family.
On the pitch, Hazard is the perfect partner in crime for Neymar. The two both have exceptional ball control so the intricate one-twos they could perform in the penalty box could bewitch defences.
PSG have the money and Eden Hazard has the ambition, it’s a match made in Paris.
Manchester United
The Red Devils may not be the best team in England today, but commercially, they’re still the biggest club in the world. Footballers today grew up with the dream of playing for Manchester United and to be frank, they still do. At United, José Mourinho is slowly but surely building an empire worthy of competing with the best. Eden Hazard is literally the last piece of Mourinho’s complex puzzle.
Manchester United have several world-class attacking players, but no creative force to supply them. Eden Hazard could act as that link between midfield and attack. The Belgian is known for linking up well with his teammates whilst creating chances for them. Even if José chose to play him in a more goalscoring-oriented role, a front three of Alexis Sánchez, Romelu Lukaku & Eden Hazard would put the fear of God into anyone.
Barcelona
The Catalonians may have just spent over £100million on Ousmane Dembélé but they’re still in need of another forward to support Suarez & Messi. Dembélé has had a hard time adjusting to life in Barcelona, both off & on the pitch as injuries have hampered his ability to play. Now the Frenchman is considering options outside of Spain, so why not use this opportunity to facilitate a mega swap deal?
Ousmane Dembélé to Chelsea and Eden Hazard to Barcelona is the perfect deal for all parties involved. It gives Dembélé the chance to put a nightmare move behind him, it also allows Eden Hazard to play with an immortal figure like Lionel Messi. Eden Hazard is on the verge of being one of the best in the world, he just needs to be put in more high-profile situations to prove it. At Barcelona, Hazard would have no choice but to take his game to the next level, something we’d all love to see.
