Three people are injured after a car crashed into a power pole in rural North Canterbury.
Emergency services were called to the crash on Old West Coast Rd between Cooks Rd and Addingtons Rd near Darfield at about 9.30am on Saturday.
A St John spokeswoman said three people were injured, one critically, one seriously and one moderately.
They were flown by helicopter to Christchurch Hospital.
A police spokeswoman said the road had been reduced to one lane and traffic control was in place just before 11am.
She said motorists should take care when travelling in the area.
The police serious crash unit would be at the scene determining the cause of the crash on Saturday morning.
