LG jumps the shark, might stick five cameras in the V40

TalkAndroid

We’ve seen some pretty crazy rumors about phones with tons of cameras before, and now it looks like LG might be getting mixed up in the arms race. A new leak suggests that we’ll see as many as five cameras on the successor to the V30, which as of right now is being referred to as the V40.

Cameras Galore

That’s way too many cameras, right? Probably, but that’s total cameras for the entire device, not just five on the back of the phone. The most realistic scenario is that there will be a triple camera system on the back of the device and two front facing cameras, since the rumor also claims that the V40 will have face unlock features. The most effective way to do that is with more cameras on the front of the phone, and that’s a much more realistic configuration.

Three cameras on the back is still a little much, but Huawei did something similar on the P20 Pro, so it’s not completely unheard of.

Everything Else

Other details about the phone indicate it will be keeping the G7 ThinQ’s design language but with a larger screen, which makes sense. The notch will probably still be here, although like with LG’s other newer phones you’ll be able to turn it off via software.

Typical LG features are making a return (the quad DAC, Google Assistant button, rear fingerprint scanner) and there will be a zippy Snapdragon 845 under the hood.

Wait a minute. This is the LG V35.
