As OnePlus begins to ramp up its marketing machine with the announcement of its 5G Snowbot Battle in Finland, others are busy sniffing out what we can expect to see on the brand’s upcoming smartphones. Previous OnePlus phones have featured speedy charging in the form of Warp Charge, and it seems that the OnePlus 8 Pro will be equipped with 50W Super Warp charging, as well as a feature that fans have asked for since the OnePlus 6 debuted with its glass rear panel – wireless charging.

According to the usually reliable Ishan Agarwal, the OnePlus 8 series of smartphones will launch on April 14th which is around a month earlier than usual. He also claims that both the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will launch with 120Hz AMOLED displays with punch-hole designs, meaning that the pop-up camera has been kicked to the curb, which might also mean that OnePlus might actually get the handsets IP certified this time around. Maybe.

The OnePlus 8 Pro is also said to benefit from dual-mode 5G, 50W Super Warp fast charging, 30W wireless charging, and maybe even 30W reverse wireless charging. Both the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro handsets are expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 processor that features the integrated X55 5G modem.

What do you think about the addition of 50W Super Warp and 30W Wireless Charging to the OnePlus 8 Pro?

He's been an Android fan ever since owning an HTC Hero, with the Dell Streak being his first phablet. He currently carries a Huawei P30 Pro and a Huawei MediaPad M5 (8.4) in his pockets and thinks nothing of lugging a 17-inch laptop around in his backpack. When not immersed in the world of Android and gadgets, he's an avid sports fan, and like all South Africans, he loves a good Braai (BBQ).
