Everyone enjoys a good story, whether its a novel or audiobook, or perhaps even a video, but how about a story that reveals itself one line at a time? A new feature called Shorts is coming to the Viber app, bringing more than 50 original free stories that are read one line at a time.
The reasoning behind the new Shorts by Viber feature is that Americans spend more time on their smartphones than reading books or watching TV, and the company believes that reading content needs to “evolve to match up”.
“We are excited to introduce readers to a new form of storytelling. Shorts by Viber will offer an entirely new perspective to on-the-go readers to consume content at their optimal convenience,” says Rakuten Viber Sr. Director of Growth, Nadav Melnick.
The more than 50 Shorts will include genres such as love stories, thrillers, comedies, sci-fi, and more, providing a quick read when you’ve only got a minute to spare, with each fresh line being sent to your phone via text whenever you’re ready. Shorts by Viber will be accessible via its Android and iOS apps.
It’s certainly an interesting take on storytelling by Viber, what do you think about it?
