A Dothan woman took home the crown for the Ms. Alabama Nursing Home Pageant.
The Dothan Eagle reports that 83-year-old Sarah "Sally" Scott was chosen from a field of 10 finalists from throughout the state. She was crowned by Miss Alabama 2017 Jessica Proctor, who co-hosted the event in Hoover on Monday.
Scott will serve as an official spokeswoman for nursing home resident and the Alabama Nursing Home Association.
During her crowing, Scott expressed her surprise. She told the audience about how much she is looking forward to traveling the state to meet people during her reign and working to help people understand the benefits of living in long-term care facilities.
Scott shares a room with her husband Randall at the Westside Terrace Healthcare.
