Looking for a fun way to catch some big games this season? We’ve got you covered!
There are two very exciting basketball seasons about to start. We enjoy being online with you guys for these games on Twitter, but whenever we’ve had a chance to meet in real life, it’s gone pretty well! So with that in mind, we’ve decided to create an opportunity for UConn fans to gather, chat about the latest goings, and eat and drink good things.
On December 2nd and December 8th, we’ll be hosting events centered around UConn basketball.
December 2nd - FREE TO ATTEND, JUST COME HANG Y’ALL
Where: The Press @ 187 Allyn St. in Hartford
When: Sunday, December 2nd, 3:30-6:30 PM
Why: UConn MBB is hosting Arizona at XL for a 12 p.m. tip. Come thru after the game and stick around to watch the women’s hoops team, who’ll be at Notre Dame for an NCAA Tournament Final Four re-match. NFL will be on, too.
The Press, which opened recently after taking over the space previously occupied by Black Bear Saloon, has generously offered to extend its Happy Hour specials to us during this time and have the Notre Dame game on TV.
We’ll also have a post-game breakdown of the men’s game and halftime commentary on the women’s team as well.
Event is free for any and all interested! Register to enter a raffle for one of many cool prizes!
December 8 - Let’s Party
Where: Madd Hatter Bar & Restaurant, Hoboken, NJ
When: Saturday, December 8th, 1:30-4:30
Why: UConn is playing Florida State at the Prudential Center, where head coach Danny Hurley will be making a Homecoming of sorts in the state where he played high school and college basketball. Gather up at an easy meeting spot and also get luxury party bus transportation to the game.
We’ll have a pre-game party in Hoboken, which should be easily accessible for NYC and Metro North folks, followed by transportation to Newark for the game. Figure out transportation for the way back on your own.
The pre-game will include a 2-hour open bar with appetizers and we’ll also have the UConn women’s basketball game against Seton Hall on TV. We’ll board the bus at 4:30 for the 6 p.m. game, and be able to keep the party going for a bit until getting to the Prudential Center to comfortably make tip-off.
If you don’t want to open bar, feel free to show up with friends and take the bus over with us, or just hang out at the bar and get to Newark however you’d like!
