There are easier ways of upping your chances of winning a golden ticket these days, and none involve employing an assembly line to unwrap chocolate bars (looking at you, Veruca). In celebration of the show’s opening weekend, the folks at Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on Broadway have harnessed the power of Snapchat to bring New Yorkers (and New-Yorkers-for-the-weekend) some pretty sweet prizes, including one pair of tickets for opening night! Here’s a rundown of the contest (and don't forget to read the rules!):
WHEN: April 21 and 22 from 10am to 6pm and April 23 from 10am to 2pm
WHAT TO KNOW:Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will release exclusive Snapchat filters geotargeted to a few areas in the city to celebrate their Broadway debut. At certain hours of the day, those Snapchat filters will change into Golden Ticket filters, but we’re not telling you when! If you’re lucky enough to run into one, simply take a picture using the Charlie filter and send it to CharlieMusical on Snapchat to be entered to win a daily Grand Prize or swag bag prices. If you don’t manage to find a Golden Ticket filter, a regular Charlie filter will still enter you to win one of several Charlie and the Chocolate Factory swag bag prizes.

WHAT YOU’LL WIN: The Daily Grand Prizes are tickets to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory—including one Daily Grand Prize winner who will get a pair of tickets to Opening Night. The Swag Bag Prizes include merchandise and something sweet and Wonka-approved from the show.
WHO CAN PLAY: Anyone with Snapchat who isn’t exclusively married to the dog ears filter can enter to win. Just remember to keep your location services on.
HOW TO ENTER: Add the user CharlieMusical on Snapchat. Once you see the Golden Ticket Filter, snap a pic and send your masterpiece to that handle. (But don’t forget, you can still be entered to win a swag bag prize with a regular Charlie filter.) The winners will be chosen at random. If you win, Wonka himself will slide into your Snap DMs to tell you of your prize.
