Some heroes like Clark Kent are from a distant planet with ripped abs and gigantic arms stopping bombs and picking up cars with their bare hands. We know those types of caped heroes only exist in movies and real-life heroes look a lot different. Some of them can even be one puffy ball of fur with a cute and adorable face and a constantly wagging tail. Yes, a puppy can be a hero too, helping you retrieve stuff and keeping you company, but sometimes they can even step up the plate too and stop literally take a fatal bullet for you.

If you are still doubting that, ask Paula Godwin whose life was saved by an unlikely hero. Her puppy, Todd who saved her from getting a fatal bite from a rattlesnake and took the hit for her instead, Paula had gone out for a morning walk early in the morning on a paved Arizona trail. Paula had gone alone, and only had her dog with her, but she didn’t expect any particular danger, but how wrong was she?

In a Facebook live video of herself which she made that morning when she started the hike she excitedly declared that no one wanted to come with her on the walk.

“Nobody wanted to come with me — it’s too early!” she said but luckily her Golden retriever was willing to tag along and ended up saving her life. During the hike, the pup had leaped in front of Paula just in time to prevent her from stepping on a rattlesnake, one of the most poisonous snakes in the Arizona desert land which would have almost definitely meant death for her in mere minutes.

In another Facebook post which she shared on Friday of the dog who got injured by the rattlesnake bite to his face, she narrated the events of the morning and gushed about her Hero dog “So this morning was up bright and early to go on a hike on 7th street carefree. It was a beautiful morning but as we were walking down the hill I literally almost stepped on an mf rattlesnake. But my hero of a puppy Todd saved me He jumped right in front of my leg where I surely would have got bit. This is what a hero looks like please say a little prayer for my sweet hero”

Todd’s heroic act caught the attention of many people online, Paula’s post about her close shave with a rattlesnake and how Todd stepped in to save her has been shared more than 940 times and gotten as much as 1000 comments from various people who praised the dog’s heroics and sent in their best wishes for its recovery.Paula kept updating about Todd’s condition and how he was faring after the bite “Todd’s doing so well he is a wonder to me how he is healing,” she wrote in a Facebook update. “Just a thank you to all the support Your kindness and support is truly a blessing.”

Later she posted a photo of herself and her to further keep her friends updated about the pup. Paula is thankful for her dog who she considers a Hero. In fact, she actually got him a Hero cape of some sort, a white shirt with the inscription “This is my cape”.
