Frank Lampard has provided an alarming update to Callum Hudson-Odoi’s injury and many supporters have taken to social media to vent their frustrations with the club’s backroom staff.

The Athletic’s Chelsea correspondent Liam Twomey tweeted on Thursday night that the 19-year-old has aggravated his injured hamstring and the Blues boss confirmed the devastating news in Friday’s press conference. Hudson-Odoi has made 27 appearances for the senior squad this season, scoring 4 goals and creating 6 assists (Transfermarkt).

Naturally plenty of the Stamford Bridge faithful have been reacting angrily to the latest injury update, with one fan firmly placing the blame on “amateurish” assistant coach Chris Jones. Another supporter renamed the Blues to “Injury FC.”

According to the club’s official website, Jones joined the London club back in 2006, starting with the Academy and reserve players, before moving to work with the first team under Carlo Ancelotti. He reunited with current head coach Frank Lampard and his assistant Jody Morris during their stint in charge of Derby County.

Take a peek at some of the angry responses we found…

I’m sorry but our medical staff are so inept so be sacked immediately

Liam something has to be wrong or or done badly with the fitness coaching/medical staff and training regimen, this is ridiculous

Hudson-Odoi aggravates his hamstring injury. Injury FC back at it again, we have nine players out injured now. #CFC

A 7 month pattern of suffering more injuries in training than matches is unacceptable. And that line about not rushing players back should’ve been picked up. Emerson, Pulisic, Tammy and Hudson-Odoi have all been rushed back and broken down immediately. It’s amateurish.

This is the actually one of the most depressing press conferences

— the normal one (@stix44r) March 6, 2020

Now it comes down to is it the medical team say they are good to come back is it the players themselves say they feel good enough to come back or Lampard pushing it too much because we are short on players who knows unless you work there behind the scenes

Chris Jones. He is responsible for the intensity and frequency of our training sessions. His judgment and competency must be questioned now. His sessions have injured Pulisic, Emerson, Hudson-Odoi (twice), Kante (twice) and others. He should resign.
