Loads of Liverpool fans are delighted by an update from Paul Joyce, who claims Reds starlet Harvey Elliott will sign a new contract at the club until 2023.

Elliott moved to Anfield last summer from Fulham after becoming the youngest player to ever appear in a Premier League match. The fee for the 16 year-old is thought to be near £7m, which seems a bargain if he fulfils his obvious potential. And his quest to reach that potential will continue at Liverpool, reports Joyce, The Times’ northern football correspondent, as he revealed Elliott will sign a new deal with the club this summer.

Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott to sign new three year contract in the summer. Turns 17yo in April but will sign after the end of the season so that deal runs to 2023.

Elliott has played three times in the FA Cup and three times in the Carabao Cup this term, and he stunned fans while playing for the under-23 side recently by scoring a stunning overhead kick. He has impressed in the UEFA Youth League too, scoring once and providing four assists in six showings.

Him and Jones coming through at the same time (granted Jones is a touch older) will be brilliant for us, fingers crossed.
