Liverpool
Loads of Liverpool fans salivated over a clause in the deal of Philippe Coutinho that will have an effect on future business with Barcelona, according to reports.
The Reds made an eye-watering £142m when Philippe Coutinho left the club in 2018, which was spent on signing Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker and helped turn them into Champions League winners. However, Jurgen Klopp’s side have benefitted in more than one way.
The Mirror cited that an £89m (€100m) premium has been placed on Barcelona that they would have to pay on top of any transfer fee. With Sadio Mane valued at £135m by TransferMarkt, this means the Catalan giants could have to pay £225m for the Senegal international. One fan described the clause as some of sporting director Michael Edwards’ best work, while another simply titled Mane as “irreplaceable” in the team.
Will Liverpool ever see the best of Naby Keita?
