Plenty of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have lauded Pedro Neto after The Athletic writer Tim Spiers voted for the 20-year old as his young player of the season.
The journalist was asked to write 1,000 words on his choice, and he claims that the decision was easy.
Neto has enjoyed a relatively decent start to his career with the Wanderers so far, scoring four goals and providing four assists in 35 appearances in all competitions this campaign, according to Transfermarkt. His stats in the top flight are not bad either, as the Portuguese man has created four big chances and also wins 2.2 duels per game, as per Sofascore.
One WWFC supporter claims that Neto is not too far off Adama Traore, and based on their Premier League stats this term you can see why. The latter just edges him out on shots and key passes per match, whereas the former actually provides more long balls and has a higher passing success percentage, according to Whoscored.
These fans hailed Neto on Twitter after reading the article, with one describing him as an ‘incredible burgeoning talent‘:
His pace is electric and I don’t think he’s far behind Adama

He would be my VAR victim of the season for the seemingly fine goals he scored at Anfield n old Trafford. He’s the real deal who’ll be playing champions league regularly. Let’s hope it’s in old gold
