Accused gunman in Florida Walmart shooting taken off life support

A man Florida police say shot a woman dead at an Orlando-area Walmart has been taken off life support and died.

David Johnson shot the woman at the Ocala, Fla., Walmart last weekend in what authorities say was a domestic dispute. He ended the attack by shooting himself in the head.

Police said previously Johnson was expected to survive.

Police said Johnson once helped Cronin bond from jail when she was arrested for failing to appear in court on drugs and weapons charges. They said he was upset she'd been dating another man.

Johnson served multiple prison sentences starting in 1987 for burglary, carjacking and drug-related convictions in Marion County, records of the Florida Department of Corrections showed.
