The warning not to drive when under the influence of alcohol is very timely. This man who has made the headlines for the wrong reasons and he would be blaming himself for not heeding that wise counsel not to drive under the influence of spirit.
Zhang and his wife and son had previously gone to a relative’s home for dinner. All went well throughout the dinner period and it was time to return home. Zhang has drunk some quantity of alcohol enough to make him tipsy before he went behind the wheels.
The wife took their son on the scooter while Zhang was behind the wheel of his silver van. The road was dark; during the course of his journey home; Zhang hit his wife’s electric scooter by 10.30pm in the city of Zibo in East China without waiting to take responsibility for his actions.
The people around rallied to help the accident victims. They were taken to the hospital and the Police was called in. Zhang was later arrested by the Police and brought to the hospital where the victims were.
The wife was in the intensive care unit of the hospital. Sadly, the son was not that lucky; he could not make it. The effort made at reviving him at the nearby hospital was not successful. He was declared medically dead.
When Zhang got to the hospital; what he met shocked him to his bone marrows. Just hours ago; they were a happy and lively family. In a twist of faith; he has killed his son and injured his wife.
Zhang burst into tears while telling the Police that the victims were actually his immediate family members. He was full of regrets for what he has caused his family. It pays not to get near the wheels while under the influence of alcohol.
