OGDENSBURG — The 57th International Seaway Festival is under full steam now that the carnival midway is officially open along the city’s greenbelt area on the St. Lawrence River.
This week includes carnival rides, games, music, food and fireworks. The festival began Saturday and concludes on Sunday.
Ogdensburg’s Seaway Festival is often referred to as the biggest family reunion in St. Lawrence County because of the number of locals who return home for the event, especially for the parade.
Carnival rides this year are being supplied by Amusements of America. The midway opened Wednesday at noon and will continue through Saturday.
A giant fireworks display is another highlight of the festival. This year’s fireworks will take place Friday night and will be conducted by Majestic Fireworks.
