College softball: Carlow beats SUNY Canton from USCAA tournament

AKRON, Ohio — Sofia Papageorge went 2-for-3, including a triple, and drove in two runs as Carlow University eliminated SUNY Canton from the USCAA Championships with a 4-2 win Tuesday night.

Kelsey Geyer and Allison Hryadil also picked up two hits for Carlow (18-19-1).

Stefanie Miller led the Kangaroos (24-17) with two hits.

SUNY Canton beat Cincinnati-Clermont 9-2 in another elimination game earlier Tuesday.

Rhea Coad led the Kangaroos in that game, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Valerie Clark also picked up three hits for SUNY Canton and Brittany Staltare went 2-for-3.

SUNY Canton will play in a fifth-place game today.
