Four indicted on drug possession charges

CANTON — A St. Lawrence County grand jury on Wednesday charged an Ogdensburg man and two New Jersey men on multiple drug possession charges.

Dennis R. Martin, 18, of 223 Patterson St., Ogdensburg, Phillip E. Preyear, 20, Jersey City, N.J., and Corey M. Tisdale, 18, Jersey City, N.J., are each charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Mr. Martin additionally was charged with first-degree criminal nuisance. All charges are felonies.

The indictment charges that on March 25, in the city of Ogdensburg, the three men were in possession of cocaine and heroin with the intent to sell. During that same time, Mr. Martin is accused of allowing people to come to his residence and gather for the purpose of engaging in the unlawful sale of heroin and deriving benefit from his conduct in the form of drugs.

In other grand jury action Wednesday:

Crystal D. Hamilton, 37, of 236 Route 11B, Potsdam, is charged with four counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and three counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, all felonies.

The indictment charges that on Jan. 19 and 21, and on two occasions on Dec. 17, in the town of Potsdam, Ms. Hamilton possessed cocaine with the intent to sell it. The indictment also charges that on Jan. 19, Dec. 17 and Dec. 2 in the town of Potsdam, Ms. Hamilton sold cocaine.

Jake A. Bercume, 24, of 2 Keener Road, Potsdam, is charged with felony second-degree strangulation.

The indictment charges that on Sept. 30, at 4809 Route 56, Colton, Mr. Bercume applied pressure to Kenneth Planty’s throat, causing him to lose consciousness for an unspecified time.

Daniel Adebola, 26, Gouverneur Correctional Facility, is charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband.

The indictment charges that on Feb. 5, while an inmate in the Gouverneur Correctional Facility, Mr. Adebola possessed a razor blade, which is considered dangerous contraband.
