Indian River forfeits final four games of season

The Indian River boys lacrosse team’s season has ended as the varsity squad has forfeited the final four games of its season, the Frontier League confirmed.

The team, which played its last game on May 2 in a 12-5 league loss to Lowville, didn’t play its games later last week against Watertown and Clinton as well as Monday’s game versus Carthage. Today’s game versus Immaculate Heart Central, which would have been the team’s regular-season finale, has been forfeited as well, according to the league.

Indian River athletic director Jay Brown could not be reached for comment.

The Warriors, who have a 1-10 record, including 1-6 in the Frontier League, will also not compete in the league playoffs, which will take place on Tuesday, or in the Section 3 playoffs as well.

The Indian River boys lacrosse team competed in sectional play last season for the first time since 2004.
