WATERTOWN — City police had to use a taser on a dog while investigating a disorderly conduct complaint involving a man with a machete early Friday.
Police were called to North Orchard Street to investigate the complaint and approached Barry L. McCready, 39, of 133 N. Orchard St., Apt. 1, at around 2 a.m. Friday outside his residence. Officers were then charged by two “aggressive” dogs that came out of Mr. McCready’s residence. Police used a taser on one dog, and another officer was able to kick the second dog away. Police said that the dogs were not injured.
Police later charged Mr. McCready with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree criminal mischief. Mr. McCready allegedly used a machete to break a window at 111 N. Orchard St.
He was held pending arraignment in City Court.
