Trump’s critics can’t accept election results

What happened to patriotism? It appears to be absent from the hearts of those who are attempting to thwart the will of the people and bring down our government.

It saddens me to learn of the obstructionism, false news, rioting, dishonesty of the news media and others. The Watertown Daily Times is sewing the seeds of its own destruction in endorsing reprints from various other falsifying news media. I am an old man — I crave your indulgence — but I believe that I have paid my dues and should be heard.

Unlike most of those objecting to our form of government, I served in Korea with the 25th Infantry Division in four campaigns in 1952 and 1953 against the communist North Koreans and the Chinese armies. I was drafted, promoted, decorated and honorably discharged. I worked 40 years for the New York Central Railroad.

Donald Trump was duly elected to be the president of the United States in the manner prescribed by the U.S. Constitution. He has done everything he promised in commencing to drain the swamp of Washington. His opposition lost the election but refused to accept the results of the election or the will of the people.

This opposition cannot stand. As Benjamin Franklin said, “We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.”
