WEST CARTHAGE — Due to the costs associated with the operation, maintenance and long-term debt of the joint utilities plants, the Board of Trustees on Monday approved increases to the water and sewer rates.

“It’s a small increase,” said village Mayor Scott M. Burto. “Residents will see a less than $20 increase.”

The new rates include a minimum water bill of $45.80 based on 400 cubic feet with $4.80 per additional water usage per 100 cubic feet for village residents. Users outside of the village will pay a $50 minimum bill with $5.80 per 100 cubic feet for additional usage.

For sewer, residents will pay $6.65 per 100 cubic feet and outside users $6.90 per 100 cubic feet.

There will also be a quarterly administration fee of $5 and a sewer debt reserve charge of $10.

Other service charges include $15 for turn on or turn off and $50 service restoration fee. A total of $80 will be charged if service was terminated due to lack of payment.
