POLLOCKSVILLE, N.C. (AP) - The son of a woman found dead in a North Carolina home is charged in her death.

The Jones County Sheriff's Office said 38-year-old Michael Cisco is charged with murder in the death of Linda Hall, whose body was found in a home in Pollocksville.

An affidavit says a Jones County deputy who arrived at the scene last Thursday found Cisco in a bedroom with injuries and a kitchen knife next to him. Hall's body was found on a sofa.

WITN-TV reports the Onslow County Medical Examiner's Office told police that Hall died from a broken neck, and added that they found skin under her fingernails which was undergoing DNA testing.

Cisco, who appeared in court Monday, is jailed without bond. It's not known if he has an attorney.
