— Sweet Tomatoes has closed its two Triangle-area locations.
The salad and hot buffet restaurant closed both locations on Wednesday, according to workers at the Raleigh location off of Capital Boulevard.
No reason was giving for the closure, but the chain's parent company, Garden Fresh Restaurant Corp., did file for bankruptcy last year. Garden Fresh had more than 100 restaurants, including Souplanation and Sweet Tomatoes, in 11 states.
In January, Cerberus Capital Management LP purchased Garden Fresh. The company said it would emerge from bankruptcy with between 90 and 104 restaurants.
