After Modi, Now Chandrababu Naidu Calls For Demonetisation. But Can It Stop Corruption?

Youth Ki Awaaz

First, it was Baba Ramdev, then came PM Modi, and now Chandrababu Naidu has surfaced. All of them spoke in favour of demonetisation in order to control corruption.

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has demanded to demonetise ₹2,000 and ₹500 currency notes in order to eliminate corruption, especially in the field of politics.

“If you do this, no party can distribute money in elections. It will not be possible for them to carry large number of Rs 100 denomination notes for distribution,” he said.

Ramdev had also raised his voice against big denomination currency notes. Then Narendra Modi had announced demonetisation. It is once again the same tone of voice which is being raised from the south this time.

His point may be correct but can it stop corruption or illegal ways to influence the common populace?

How can he be so confident when Jan Sena party chief Pawan Kalyan alleged that the TDP had already stashed away ₹25 crores for each constituency?

Naidu has a clear response to that allegation. He maintained that if the government banned high denomination notes, then that cash would become redundant.

But would the people like to experience the hardships of demonetisation once again? The long line at the banks were a harrowing experience.
